FAQ

Common questions

What are quests in MapRaiders?
Quests are player-designed outdoor adventures that challenge you to walk to specific locations, collect items, solve puzzles, or complete physical objectives. Other players create quests in your city and you can discover and complete them for rewards and leaderboard points.
How do I start a quest?
Browse the quests available near your current location on the quest map. Tap a quest to read the description and objectives, then tap 'Start Quest' to accept it. Head to the designated starting location and begin following the waypoints.
Can I create my own quests?
Yes. Any player can design and publish quests. Open the quest creator, set your waypoints on the map, write objectives and descriptions, and publish. Your quest immediately becomes available for other players in your area to discover and complete.
How long do quests take?
Quest length varies depending on the creator's design. Short quests can be completed in 15–30 minutes. Longer exploration quests covering large parts of a city can take several hours. The quest description always shows an estimated duration before you start.
What rewards do quests give?
Completing quests rewards you with territory bonuses, experience points, special titles, and leaderboard ranking. Some quests unlock exclusive items or abilities. Creator quests that are popular and well-reviewed also earn the quest designer bonus rewards.
Are quests available in all cities?
Quests are created by players, so availability depends on your local community. In active MapRaiders cities there are quests in every district. In newer areas, you can be the first to design quests and shape how your city is explored by others.

From the Founder
I built MapRaiders because GPS games either force your wallet or leave you alone. Here every step shapes real territory — and every map becomes the social network of your city.

Dropping Echoes and watching who finds them is like an open scavenger hunt through the whole city. I discover corners I'd never seen.
