The cycle of attack and defence

Place a defence

Open your territory and assign a mini-game to it. Your chosen game becomes the challenge any attacker must beat to take your land.

Attacker challenges

Another player physically walks to your territory and taps the challenge button. Both players are connected for the defence game.

Mini-game plays

Both players compete in the assigned game in real time. Skill, strategy, and a little luck determine the outcome.

Winner takes it

Attacker wins: they claim your territory. Defender wins: territory stays yours and the attacker must wait before trying again.

Common questions

What are defence games?
Defence games are mini-games you place on your territories to protect them from attackers. When another player walks to your territory and challenges it, both players compete in the assigned mini-game. The winner determines who owns the land.
How do I add a defence to my territory?
Open your territory on the map and select 'Add Defence'. Choose from the available mini-games and assign it. The defence is active immediately. You can add multiple defenses to larger territories for layered protection.
What mini-games are available?
MapRaiders currently offers 7 defence mini-games including Rock Paper Scissors, Tic Tac Toe, Mini Chess, and more. Each game requires a different skill set, allowing you to pick defenses that suit your strengths.
What happens if I lose a defence?
If the attacker wins the defence game, they claim your territory. The land changes colour on the map to reflect the new owner. You can attempt to reclaim it by walking back and challenging the new owner to another defence game.
How many defenses can I have?
The number of defence slots depends on the size and value of your territory. Larger territories earn more defence slots, allowing for multiple layers of protection. Clan territories can also share defence responsibilities.
Can I change my defence game?
Yes. You can change your defence game at any time from the territory management screen. Swapping defence games is a good strategy to surprise attackers who may have prepared for a specific game type.
