Exact mechanics: A territory claim's value equals the enclosed area in m² multiplied by stackable bonuses, weather (light rain ×1.3, heavy rain or snow ×1.5, storm ×2.0, extreme cold below −5°C ×1.8, extreme heat above 35°C ×1.5), time of day (early morning 5–7 a.m. ×1.3, night 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. ×1.5), daily claim streak (3 days ×1.1, 7 days ×1.3, 14 days ×1.5, 30 days ×2.0, 90 days ×2.5) and novelty (first-ever claim of an area ×2.0). An attack takes only what it walks around.

Four steps to conquer your city

Walk

Start territory tracking in the app and head outside. Every meter you cover is recorded as a GPS point on the map.

Close the route

Return to your starting point to close the loop. The app detects the closed polygon automatically, no manual input needed.

Claim the land

Your territory appears on the shared map in your chosen color. Everyone in the game can see it, it's yours now.

Defend it

You hold territory by walking it again. Attackers must walk to it themselves to challenge it.

Common questions

What is territory claiming in MapRaiders?

Territory claiming is the core mechanic of MapRaiders. You physically walk, run or cycle a route in the real world. When you close the route by returning to your starting point, the enclosed area becomes your territory and appears in your chosen color on the map.

How do I claim territory?

Open MapRaiders and start territory tracking. Walk any route outdoors, every GPS point is recorded. When you return to your starting location, the polygon closes automatically and the area is claimed as your territory.

Can I lose my territory?

Your territory stays yours, even when you are not out for a while. You can only lose it to another player who takes it from you.

Can other players take my territory?

Yes. Other players can challenge your territory with a loop of their own. An attack takes only what the attacker walks around, and your land stays yours until another player takes it.

How large can a territory get?

Territories grow as large as the route you walk. There is no hard size limit, but larger territories require more effort to defend and hold. Adjacent territories you own are automatically merged into larger zones.

What are territory multipliers?

Territory multipliers boost the points and influence you gain from owning land. They can be earned through quests, events, and special challenges. High-traffic or strategically located territories often carry natural bonuses.
