How It Works

How are clans formed?

01

System detects patterns

The algorithm watches your movement and territory claims. It identifies shared geographic areas and movement habits with other players.

02

Clan suggestion

When a match is found, players are notified. A clan of similar members is suggested: neighborhood, commuter, route, or dog walker.

03

Accept or decline

You choose to join. No forced factions. Memberships are optional and earned through real activity together, not arbitrary assignment.

04

Compete & collaborate

Your clan enters seasonal leaderboards. Claim territories together, chat, share strategies, and compete against rival clans in your district.

Clan Types

What are the 4 clan types?

Neighborhood Clans

Players living or frequently active in the same residential area. Strongest bonds through shared daily routes and local familiarity.

Commuter Clans

Players who share regular commute routes. Daily overlap creates strong cohesion and consistent competitive engagement throughout seasons.

Route Clans

Athletes and enthusiasts following specific routes: parks runs, bike paths, hiking loops. Dedicated to a particular geography and regularity.

Dog Walker Clans

Players who regularly walk dogs in similar neighborhoods or parks. Unique sub-community with distinctive movement patterns and social bonds.

Questions

Clan gameplay

How are Clans formed?
Clans form organically based on shared activity and geography. When players claim territories in the same district or area, and move similarly, the system auto-detects these patterns and suggests clan formation. No forced joining—players accept or decline membership.
Can I leave a clan?
Yes. Clan membership is optional and can be changed at any time. If your activity patterns change and you no longer fit the clan's core geography or route, you can leave and may be matched with a new clan that suits your current habits.
How do clans compete?
Clans compete district-by-district in seasonal leaderboards. Combined territory value, Echo creation, defense victories, and member activity all contribute to clan score. Seasonal resets keep competition fresh. District wars: clans controlling more land in a district earn higher rank.
Why organic clans instead of factions?
Organic clans are rooted in real geography and real communities, unlike games like Ingress where factions are arbitrary global choices. MapRaiders clans emerge from players' actual movement and location, creating meaningful local rivalries and friendships based on authentic shared experience.
