You Know Your City — But Do You Own It?

Urban explorers know something most people miss: every city has hidden layers. Back alleys with forgotten murals. Courtyards that never appear on any map. Rooftop vistas that belong to whoever finds them first.

But there's no record of your discoveries. No proof you were there. No game that keeps score across the whole city over months and years.

Google Maps shows everyone the same streets. Social media posts vanish after a day. There's nowhere to plant your flag — until now.

MapRaiders: Urban Exploration Game Built on Real GPS

MapRaiders is a GPS territory MMO where the entire city — every block, park, plaza, and side street — is the game world. Your physical movement is the controller.

🗺️

Territory Claiming

Every GPS coordinate you physically visit can become territory you own. Walk a block, claim a block. The map reflects your real-world presence.

🎙️

Audio Echoes

Drop voice recordings anchored to exact locations. Other explorers hear your echo when they physically reach that spot — like invisible graffiti with sound.

🏚️

White Zones

Unclaimed areas appear as white space on the MapRaiders map. For urban explorers, white zones are not gaps — they're invitations. First there, first owned.

Decay System

Territory weakens if you stop visiting. This isn't a bug — it's designed to keep the game alive. A returning explorer reclaims. An absent one loses ground.

How MapRaiders Works for Urban Explorers

Who This Is For

MapRaiders is built for people who already love the city and want more from it:

If you've ever thought "I know this city better than anyone" — MapRaiders is where you prove it.

From Beta Testers

"I've been walking the same city for 10 years and thought I knew it all. MapRaiders sent me down alleys I'd never entered. Two weeks in and I'd covered more new ground than in the previous two years combined." — Marcus T., urban photographer, Chicago IL (Beta)

Early testers report finding new local businesses, historical markers, and viewpoints they'd lived next to for years without ever noticing. The game doesn't just reward exploration — it manufactures the impulse to go further.

Frequently Asked Questions

An urban exploration game uses your real GPS location as the game input. In MapRaiders, every street you walk becomes territory you can own and defend — turning the city into a persistent multiplayer map.
Yes. MapRaiders only uses public GPS data — no need to trespass. Your territory is built on sidewalks, parks, and public routes, not restricted zones.
Pokémon GO sends you to fixed spawn points. MapRaiders rewards you for going everywhere — especially the forgotten corners nobody else visits. White zones (unclaimed territory) are your opportunity, not your obstacle.
Yes. MapRaiders' Audio Echo feature lets you record voice messages anchored to exact GPS coordinates. Leave a story at a back alley you discovered. Other explorers will find it when they reach that spot.
That's the core game loop. Territories can be contested, reclaimed, and defended. The city is dynamic — which means there's always a reason to go back out.

I built MapRaiders because GPS games either force your wallet or leave you alone. Here every step shapes real territory — and every map becomes the social network of your city.

Dropping Echoes and watching who finds them is like an open scavenger hunt through the whole city. I discover corners I'd never seen.
